A pharmaceutical company approached Accelerate Associates to gather intelligence from UK A&E and critical care consultants regarding pain management protocols for patients that are experiencing moderate to severe pain. The company’s product range is typically used in anaesthesia and critical care.
The Challenge
To gather pain management intelligence from clinicians caring for the health of patients that may experience severe to moderate pain. The aim of the exercise was to identify qualitative information about drugs used, care pathways and modes of administration typically preferred or required in these care settings.
The Approach
Accelerate interviewed A&E clinicians from a variety of NHS Trust settings, advanced paramedics, Intensive Care Consultants and a senior hospital Pharmacist.
A discussion schedule was agreed with the client and a full transcript for each interview was supplied to the client for their own analysis.
